A comparatively small proportion of the photographic history of the composer Arnold Schönberg is occupied by visual arts reporting, which concerns certain events. The earliest example to be given in this context is a group photograph of members of the Vienna Philharmonic Choir that took part in the performances of Gustav Mahler’s Symphony No. 8 at the Deutsches Theater in Prague (28 and 29 March 1912). Prior to the performance, Arnold Schönberg held a lecture on Mahler in Prague’s Redehalle (25 March 1912) and is pictured on the photo alongside the conductor Alexander Zemlinsky and members of the choir’s executive including Franz Schreker, Robert Löwy and Gustav Modry. In Das interessante Blatt 16 (18 April 1912).
