Alice Banfield is an autistic artist from Wales. Her work explores her experiences as an autistic person, in which she uses this narrative to deconstruct misconceptions of autism. In particular, she challenges the negative language used by some organisations to portray autism as a disease and something that can and should be cured. By exploring the language and stereotypes of autism, Alice creates her own narrative as an autistic person to address these anxieties.
