Aliya (Wall niche)

This pair of aliya in an old house were used as a place of worship. Prints of deities were placed inside the niches along with lamps. Red coloured cloth was hung from the top using nails to become a curtain for the aliya. The handprints above were made by a newlywed bride during her wedding ceremony.
