Alpha Tower, Birmingham, an office block of twenty-eight storeys, was designed by George Marsh of Richard Seifert & Partners and built in 1970-2. It marked a change from George Marsh’s earlier designs, such as Centre Point, which depended for part of their effect on the strong shapes of pre-cast-concrete panels. It has been listed at Grade II
