This altar cushion is a part of the festive purple vestment, composed of ten pieces. Together with the rose one this vestment is perhaps the most refined among the festive sets, for the happy contrast established between the purple background and the gold embroidery.
Made by Cosimo Paternostro, it shows a perfect synthesis between the baroque tradition and rococo exoticism.The embroidery maintains an extremely high quality in each of its pieces, even those of smaller dimension.
