The chapel underwent a complete renovation at the end of the 19th century, at which time the current Neo-Gothic altarpiece was constructed. It sits atop a wooden base decorated with marble and consists of the predella and the main body. The predella depicts the death of Saint Joseph in bas-relief, while the main body features, in the center, the image of the patron saint, beneath a canopy. On either side are the figures of Saint James and Saint Teresa of Ávila.
