"The altarpiece devoted to Saint Salvador, from the Alzina de Ribelles, Vilanova de l’Aguda (La Noguera), attributed to Jaume Cabrera, painter documented in Catalunya between 1394 and 1432, arrived mutilated to M.D. Jesus Perez Rosales collection that was bought to the antique dealer Josep Bardolet.
Three streets are preserved from the original altarpiece, sawed in three compartments and finishing as a pinnacle with four veneer sheets.
The left street dedicated to Saint Marc, presents the saint healing the shoemaker Anià wound, his imprisonment and his martyrdom. In the main street the station of the cross, Christ in Majesty and the Virgin Mary with the child accompanied by an angel. The right street presents the scenes of Whitsun, the Ascension and the Transfiguration, and the veneer sheet that separate the streets includes images of the saints.
During the 1930 the central street of the lower compartment was cut out. Later the resulted space was reconstructed inventing the scene still preserved today."
