This type of jewellery was worn in the Łowicz region (the Principality of Łowicz historical area) with thick, homespun fabrics dyed mostly orange.This type of jewellery was most popular from the start of the 20th century to the 1930s. ecklaces usually came with attached glass, occasionally hand-painted, images of Mary, bought in pilgrimage sites and at church fairs, or sometimes tin or metal crosses.
