American flag made by German women in US-occupied Schoenburg. The flag flew on top of Castle Schoenburg, the highest point in Bavaria, after American GIs recatured the area during WWII. Hand-made in one night by a group of German women it flew on a flagpole erected for the purpose by German POWs. After the war, the flag was brought home by Raymond L. Weinstein, who served with the 102nd Ozark Infantry Division. He had been given the assignment to procure the flag and supervised its production. White bag also included.
