Octagonal amulet decorated with inlaid gold and an inscription from the Qur’an (68: 51–52). Amulets of this sort were worn as armbands, and contained microscopic copies of the Koran. Possibly Deccan, 17th–18th century. H. 2 cm., D. 4 cm. (ΓΕ_13247).
