The book by the French engineer and cartographer G. de Beauplan, “Beschreibung der Ukraine, der Krim, und deren Einwohner...” in German translation was published by the Korn’s printing house in 1780. The book was addressed to fans of travel literature interested in Eastern European territories. At the end of the book there is a folded copperplate engraving with an image of a Tatar hut and a sketch of a Cossack officer’s tent and wagon.
