As Saint John looks on serenely, an angel descends with the "eternal Gospel" to be proclaimed to all those on earth. The angel's words appear on the scroll: Timete do[minu]m et date illi honorem quia venit hora iudicii eius amen (Fear the Lord, and give him honor, because the hour of his judgment has come. Amen). (Apocalypse 14:7)
