The small stone base, destinated to support a miniaturistic statue, records in Greek letters, the name of a famous sculptor from the island of Rhodes: Athanadoros the son of Agesandros. Together with Polydoros and Agesandros, he made famous sculptural groups such as the Laocoonte, now exposed in the Vatican Museums and the Ulysses Group of the Cave of Tiberius in Sperlonga. 1st century BC
