The Elizabethan interior was a popular style revived during the Victorian period. It is characterized by heavily carved panelling, the use of stained glass, intricate plasterwork and high-backed carved oak chairs. An armorial cartouche on the overmantel and a gold ewer and tray on a skirted table are elements commonly seen in Elizabethan interiors.
