An explanation of RUN's painted hoardings surrounding The Crown and Greyhound in Dulwich Village

RUN has based many of his people on those in ‘The Triumph of David’ by Nicholas Poussin, painted in 1628 and hanging round the corner in Dulwich Picture Gallery. In both these art works the people are celebrating. In Poussin’s they are fêting David for decapitating Goliath, in RUN’s they are marching happily towards Dulwich Picture Gallery.
