This document comes from a police correspondence file of letters sent in by members of the public providing information around the Gatton Murders.

Siblings Michael, Norah and Ellen Murphy were murdered near Gatton on Boxing Day 1898. All three were killed between 10pm and the early hours of the following morning on their way home from a dance that had been cancelled. Speculation regarding the murders sparked intense interest in the tragedy.
