The scroll reads: "Asia, the third part of the world, is bigger than Europe and Africa put together. It is divided into many provinces and regions. This province called by the ancients Asia minor, is today called Natolia or Turkey; being under the same parallels of Italy anciently it brought forward many famous and illustrious scholars; today it is entirely under the rule of the Turkish empire and all its peoples are mohammedan."
