The anatomy collection at the University of Edinburgh was transferred from the original museum in the Old College to a purpose-built museum which opened in 1884/5. The new museum at Teviot Place, part of the new Medical School building designed by Robert Rowand Anderson, contained examples of both human and animal anatomy.
