Stefan Garczyński’s major political work written in a reformist spirit. The book deals with important political and social problems of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth in the early 18th century. Thanks to Józef Andrzej Załuski, the first two editions were printed in Warsaw, in Jesuit publishing house in 1750 and 1751. However, due to excessive censorship of the Warsaw copies, the author decided to print the next edition abroad. This is how his work found its way to Wrocław and J. J. Korn’s publishing house. Aiming primarily at the Polish readership market, the publisher attempted to make the third edition similar to previous ones by using similar types and including the copperplate engraving representing the Polish eagle in the crown on the title page. The printer received the printing block of the engraving from S. Garczyński, the author of the engraving. Eventually, the title page of the third edition of the “Anatomy” was exactly modelled on the 1750 first edition, the only change being the year of publication added at the bottom, marked with Roman numerals – MDCCLIII. Unlike the title page, the text of the third, Wrocław, edition of Garczyński's work underwent numerous changes and additions.
