The author began this work inspired by the beauty of magnolias in the botanical garden of Kyiv. But the war interrupted all her plans. The artist was forced to escape from the city which suffered from bombages, and unfinished work was left at home.
She was lucky to return to the almost undamaged house and finish her work this summer.
