Anita LeNoit was daughter of french merchants who lived on the village of Salamina; she met Simón Bolivar at the age of 17 in 1812, during this time they had a short-lived romantic relationship, but they stay as close partners, to the point that she followed Bolivar to his exile in 1830.
As a foreigner, Anita’s clothing reflected her more European values and accommodations, her dress is made from velvet decorated with a floral embroidery on the top part of the dress and having a skirt with a clear inspiration on the empire style from Europe, giving her more movement and evoked some classical imagery
