Annunciation

The Annunciation in this work is unique in that it is executed on glass. This painting reproduces two compositions by Luca Giordano from the last decade of the 17th century, close to the time of his arrival in Spain in 1692. A disciple of Giordano is therefore the author of this glass depicting the Archangel Gabriel announcing to Mary that she will give birth to the Son of God, with a sky filled with angels and a background of lush vegetation.
