The altar curtain was originally completely embroidered, the embroidery today has partly fallen out. In the center, it shows the resurrection, on the right-hand side of the missal sacrifice symbols and the birth of Christ on the left.
The antependium originally came from the Frauenkonvent (Benedictine monastery St. Andreas, founded 1120) of the double monastery in Engelberg. About 1615, it came to Sarnen because of the resettlement of the monastery and from there in the end of the 19. Century to St. Gallen.
