Anthromorphic funerary statuette-Culture Komaland

At this time the collection of the Alberto Jiménez-Arellano Alonso Foundation includes forty small Komaland terracotta statues, which may be classified into three groups according to their typology. Included in the second group are three "Janus" or bifrontal figures, all with open mounths. They are the best reflection of the great expressive force and abstraction which the Komaland sculptures can manage to attain.
