Alexandra Palace served multiple uses during the Second World War, whilst it partly stayed open for entertainment, it was also used as a centre for refugees. The BBC mast was used to jam the navigation signals of the Luftwaffe and the park contained an anti-aircraft gun. The gun remained in the Park for many years following the end of the war.
