Anti-Vietnam War rally, Civic Center Plaza

When the crowd arrived at the plaza, police refused to allow them access to a roped-off section. Minor altercations broke out as officers forcibly removed people who tore down the ropes. When police demanded protesters drop their picket signs, some in the crowd angrily threw the heavy sticks at police.
