Jan Martens and the Berlin-based Dance On Ensemble presented any attempt will end in crushed bodies and shattered bones, a powerful reflection on resistance, solidarity, and individuality. Inspired by global protests and featuring 17 dancers aged 18 to 71, the choreography celebrated diversity in form, age, and movement. Set to Górecki’s Harpsichord Concerto and pieces of protest music, the performance merged dance with spoken text and projected declarations, exploring language as both an oppressive tool and a means of defiance. In this compelling work, Martens envisioned a world where coexistence remains a radical, urgent act.
