Kelvin Grove, Brisbane, Australia

This was the Bank of Australasia, State Headquarters, Queen and Wharf Streets, until its merger with the ANZ Banking Group in October 1951. This remained a branch of that bank until about the latter part of the 1970s. The original building was built in 1856, then rebuilt as in this photo in 1923/25 and finally demolished in 1984. Some of the stone from this building went into the construction of "Tintagel' the magnificent home on the Brisbane River at Tennyson. see also https://digitalcollections.qut.edu.au/5933/
