From October 11 - 22, 1968, Apollo 7, crewed by astronauts Walter Schirra, Walter Cunningham, and Donn Eisele, successfully completed the first manned mission in the Apollo program. This spacecraft completed 163 Earth orbits over 10 days, 20 hours, and 9 minutes, traveling a total distance of 4,539,959 miles. Mission objective was to test the spacecraft, systems, and procedures needed for a successful 10-day mission to the Moon.
