Stafford Air & Space Museum

Stafford Air & Space Museum
Weatherford, United States

This is a 1/2 scale model of an Apollo Lunar Module (LM) – the spacecraft that would land humans on the moon. The LM would fly to the moon connected to the Command Module. Once in lunar orbit, two of the three astronauts would transfer into the LM to descend to the moon, leaving the third astronaut to stay behind in orbit in the Command Module. Tom Stafford would be the first to command a LM into the lunar environment during his Apollo 10 mission in 1969. (1/2 Scale Replica)
