In the Georgian Theatre Royal archive we have a series of scrapbooks made by Lady Nancy Crathorne from the early 1960s. They record the progress of the restoration of the theatre. This newspaper cutting is in the first scrapbook and dates from 16th January 1960. It shows the management committee of the Richmond Georgian Trust in the theatre and announces that ‘an appeal for £15,000 for the theatre’s restoration is shortly to be announced’.
