Gilded terracotta applique depicting a nude kneeling male figure, his mantle billowing as if in the wind, in the act of pouring a liquid from a jug. Similar appliques, arranged in friezes incorporating a range of subjects, were used for the decoration of wooden sarcophagi. The figure was part of a frieze with a Dionysian theme.
