Aprons are worn in different communities as an important part of the indigenous attire, be it for carrying out domestic chores, which was their original use, or as an accessory to everyday clothing, among which there are some that are quite expensive due to the complex details used to decorate them. They are made out of jaspe cloth with pleats to make the waist. They are traditionally made from the same cloth panel as the skirt, which gives them their particular form, and are decorated according to their place of origin. The one exhibited here has heart-shaped decorations applied around the edge, with light blue soutage, daisies and galón.
