In Atari's Paperboy, players control a bicycle-riding paperboy with bicycle handlebars attached to the arcade cabinets. The objective of Paperboy is to perfectly deliver newspapers for a week. This is done by delivering newspapers on the doorstep or in the mailbox of customer's houses while avoiding obstacles like cars, skateboarders, fire hydrants, and the occasional tornado. Bonus points are awarded for damaging non-subscribing houses.
Teenage boys and girls everywhere related to the theme of Paperboy. It was ported to a variety of home computers of the day, including the Apple II and Commodore 64. It has since been ported to Midway Arcade Treasures for GameCube, PlayStation 2, PlayStation Portable, Xbox, and Windows. It is also available on Xbox Live Arcade for Xbox 360. Although an arcade sequel was not created, Paperboy 2 is a popular sequel for a number of home gaming systems.
