Manufactured by Atari, Inc. in 1987, Road Blasters combines a traditional racing game with an added shoot-'em-up element. The goal is to complete 50 unique races without running out of fuel while avoiding and blasting enemy cars. Players earn fuel throughout the races by driving through red and green globes and by passing through checkpoints. Additionally, players gain special weapons from low-flying airplanes that drop missiles, cannons and shields. By lining the car up directly under the plane, the weapons land on the roof of the car.
