Gordailua houses a collection of fifty chests belonging to the Provincial Government of Gipuzkoa and others belonging to the San Telmo Museum, from different periods and origins.
The photograph shows chests of different sizes from the Provincial Government's collection. The ones on the right are from the collection of Xabi Otero and come from different territories. The chest on the upper shelf was found in Salvatierra / Agurain (Alava / Araba) and is believed to date from the sixteenth century. The large chest on the lower shelf is from Betelu (Navarre) and is somewhat later. At the rear is a chest from Haro (La Rioja). It has been tree-ring-dated to the sixteenth century.
