Archaeological excavation in 1973

In the archaeological excavations carried out in 1973 by Jose Maria Blazquez in the tomb of the Higuerones, pebble mosaics as heritage of cultures of the eastern Mediterranean were documented, with pebble borders surrounding the corpse cremated seem a phenomenon unique to the Iberian Peninsula. His sense should be related to delimit the tomb as sacral area.
