Tomás Campos, a Chachapoya archaeologist of the Alfredo Narvaez research project, is delicately cleaning the surface of a votive ceramic of a funerary context in Kuélap in order to reveal its surface and patterns while conserving the micro evidence of its original content. The photographic composition expresses a striking relationshiop between the living and the dead, represented by the converging gaze of two individuals meeting in the same space though separated by 5 centuries.
