Archie Jackson first played for New South Wales when aged 17 and scored 164 in his first Test against England at Adelaide in 1929. He toured England with the 1930 Australian team, but illness severely shortened his career and he died of tuberculosis in Brisbane during the fourth Test of the 1932-33 “Bodyline” series, aged 23 years.
