Arthur Heygate Mackmurdo designed this building in c.1905 as the Post Office for Wickham Bishops. Mackmurdo lived in this small village in Maldon, Essex for much of his life and designed a number of both public and private buildings in the area. The former post office still exists today, although much altered, however the distinctive round turret corners are still in evidence.
