Arethusa (Piero Dorazio, Graziano Marini 1989)
This is a decorative art work of great chromatic vivacity joined to the formal rigor that, with an explosion of colors, has invested and changed the face of a military architecture (the headquarter of the Carrabinieri of Castel di Lucio), than usually, has an anonymous and sad aspect. An art work where the color feed the light with a clear tone that reveals the knowledge of the abstractionism time. To the multicolor ceramic the artists have entrusted the role to ransom the greyness of many building of the sicilian building trade, very often illegal and unauthorized. Therefore, in the contemporary architecture concept, the art becomes part of the architecture itself, and recaptures a fundamental role that should be an example in our cities culture.
