Antoni Gaudí’s Artigas Gardens are unknown to most of the general public.
They are located in La Pobla de Lillet, in the Pre-Pyrenees. The project consisted of landscaping the gardens belonging to Joan Artigas, a textile manufacturer. Gaudí drew up a plan that took advantage of the relief and unevenness of the terrain, the same as in Park Güell. He sent two trusted workers who had already worked in Park Güell to carry out the project with the help of a local builder. However, the architect himself, once the plans were complete, never visited the site to supervise the work. The project was overlooked by Gaudí’s historiographers until the end of the 20th century.
