Dorothy Akpene Amenuke standing beside her textile sculpture and installation at the OfKob residency. Amenuke's work deals with questions of human relations, production, and progress through a broad sense of communality. She manipulates fabrics, fibres, textiles, and other cloth-like materials into object constellations, evocative tableaux, and installations formed through long sessions of cutting, pasting, dying, tying, weaving, and modelling.
