One of the earliest science fiction themes in Egyptian cinema was Oyuoun Sahera (Enchanted Eyes, 1934) where Assia’s character who loses her sweetheart in a car crash and uses black magic to bring him back from the dead, scouring the country with her magical eyes searching for a host for his disembodied soul.
