This folding-screen painting is thought to be a work of An Keon-young (1841-1876), who was known as the master of court painting. It showcases various motifs such as landscape, flower-bird, flower-plant, Four Gracious Plants and fish, each depicted in different shapes of frames: round shape, square shape and fan shape. Usually, when producing an assortment folding screen, each small painting is attached to the screen after they are completed individually, but here, the paintings are drawn directly on the screen. The aspect of artistic exchange between Joseon and Qing dynasty is profoundly apparent in this work- the landscapes are painted with the style of Four King's school of Qing dynasty and the flower-branch paintings are colored with vibrant colors that can be seen in Ming-Qing dynasty.
