Body, rete, handle and ring. Three tympans, pin and bent bar added later. 28 star markers. Labeled in Arabic. Inscription: "sana`ahu badr mawla badi` al-zaman hibatallah ibn al-husayn al-asturlabi fi bidayat sana th.k.h." [Badr, the associate (freedman?) of the wonder of the age, Hibatallah ibn al-Husayn, the astrolabe-maker, in the beginning of the year 525.]
