Rete has 28 flame-shaped star points - and is paper on cardboard. Four tympans-paper, alidade-brass. Body, mater, rete, alidade, double rule, bail, ring, and tympans. Labeled in Latin. Inscription reads: "Philipus Danfrieus Siderographus Regius Generalis Lutetiae exarabat Anno Salutis 1584" ; "A Paris Chez Jehan Moreau rue St. Jacques a la Croix Blanche 1622".
