Astronaut Sam Durrance takes time for a group photo with students from Panama City, Fla., Oscar Patterson Elementary Magnet School. The students are wearing mock space suit helmets. Durrance joined Center Director Jim Kennedy, who is visiting Florida and Georgia NASA Explorer Schools to share America’s new vision for space exploration with the next generation of explorers. Kennedy is talking with students about our destiny as explorers, NASA’s stepping stone approach to exploring Earth, the Moon, Mars and beyond, how space impacts our lives, and how people and machines rely on each other in space.
