Atari Home Pong Advertisement Drawing

Artist Calvin W. Winebrenner drew this pen and ink sketch of Atari's Home Pong (1975) video game console in 1976 for Polsky's and O'Neil's Department Stores. The Akron, Ohio-based regional stores would likely have used this drawing for in-store signage as well as store circulars and marketing materials.

This original sketch features one of the earliest home video game consoles and Atari's first consumer product. After the success of Atari's Pong (1972) arcade game, the company produced a smaller and cheaper consumer version that compressed all of the components of the coin-operated version on to a single chip. As a result, Atari's Home Pong brought the arcade into the living room for the first time.
