The elegantly rendered details of the trees and the reflecting pond adjacent to the house, depicted with its lily pads, create a sense of serenity for the Bock studio. The design also included a significant number of windows to obtain as much natural light as possible for Bock’s sculpting. Richard Bock was a friend of Wright’s and also worked with him producing sculptures for various commissions, including the Dana House and the Larkin Company Administrative Building.

This and select other prints within the Wasmuth portfolio were dusted with bronze powder in the printing process, creating the appearance of a metallic gold ink.
